DanZhou
Danzhou City, located in the northwest part of Hainan Island near the Gulf of Tonkin, is an economic, transport, communications, and cultural center in west Hainan. A long history has left Danzhou City with many ancient structures, such as the Han-era (206 BCE – 220 CE) Fubo Well (伏波井), Zhonghe Ancient Town, and the Dongpo Academy. Local natural attractions that can’t be missed include Yunyue Lake (“Cloud Moon Lake”), Lanyang Hot Springs (“Blue Ocean Hot Springs”), and the Lumuwan Waterfall (“Deer Mother Waterfall”).
Sanya
Sanya is one of China’s famous tourism cities. You can indulge to your heart’s content in the beautiful coastal landscape and abundant water sports activities. You can also go the primordial rainforest to enjoy Sanya’s original ecological environment. This place also has fresh affordable seafood and tropical fruits. It is a delicious way to spend the afternoon, and you can eat as much as you want. At Yalong Bay and Haitang Bay, there are great collections of many star-rated luxury resorts and hotels. It is one of the most highly-coveted seaside resort locations.
Haikou
Haikou is the capital of Hainan, with a much more cultural air than Sanya. Aside from the parks of coconut groves, beaches, mangrove forests and volcanoes, you can see natural landscapes as well as the historical arcades and the Five Officials’ Temple. Mission Hills Huayi Brothers Feng Xiaogang Movie Town, also known simply as Haikou Movie Town, is a new attraction. Here you can see the classic scenes from the movie “Back to 1942” and backdrops of a pre-war Southeast Asia and Hong Kong, as well as experience this city’s historical changes over a hundred years. It is also an excellent place to take photos.
ZhongHe Ancient Town
The ancient town of Zhonghe was the seat of the Danzhou County government. The great scholar of Song Dynasty Su Dongpo lived here for three years. Due to Su Dongpo’s influence on local culture, people here have enjoyed poetry for past many centuries. As a result, Zhonghe Ancient Town has the beautiful moniker of “Home of Poetry.” There are many historical sites within the town. In addition to the famous Dongpo Academy, there are also sites such as Guanglang Nunnery, Dongpo Well and the Kuixing Tower. The streets in the ancient town are historical, and green with thick layers of growing moss.

Dongpo Academy was the place where Su Shi gave lectures in Danzhou after being demoted. Now it still keeps the features of antiqueness and classic beauty. Inscriptions artifacts have been still kept here from ancient times, giving off the exhilarating air of scholarship. It was here that he opened a school to teach poetry and disseminate Central Plains culture. Nowadays, many of Su Dongpo’s manuscripts are on display in the main hall and the adjacent rooms on both sides.

Danzhou Millennium Ancient Salt Field
The ancient salt field in Danzhou has a long history. This is one of the early salt-making areas, which still remains in good condition today. Yantian Village, where the salt field is located, is a seaside village. When you enter the village, you see different sized stone troughs scattered across the seashore. They are scattered around Yantian in a spectacular fashion. Today, Yantian Village retains this ancient salt-making culture. Not far from Yantian is the famous Yangpu Port, where freighters are berthed.

Nanshan Cultural Tourism Zone
Nanshan Cultural Tourism Zone is located in Yazhou District of Sanya. It is a famous religious and cultural site in China. The attraction is built by the sea, where you can enjoy the natural beauty of mountains and seas. The Nanshan Temple and the 33 Guanyin Temple in the scenic spot are both excellent places for worshipping Buddhas. At the end of the scenic spot, the 108-meter high Guan Yin of Nanshan cannot be missed.

A famous buddhist statue in Sanyan, the Nanshan Guanyin is a pilgrimage site for prayer and benediction. The statue, an effigy of the bodhisatva 108 meters in height, stands upon Jingangzhou (Guanyin Island) located in front of Nanshan Temple. Folk dancing and performance are staged here during festivals, and visitors can choose to participate in the revelry.

The large-scale performance “The Romantic Show of Songcheng” is the soul of Hangzhou Song Dynasty. The performance is a highlight of the Songcheng tour. It has captivating song and dance, coupled with beautiful sound and light effects, and will thoroughly explain the history and mythology of Hangzhou. In this audio-visual performance, you will be able to appreciate the daily life of Liangzhu people thousands of years ago, the splendid glory of the Southern Song Dynasty palace, the fierceness of the Yue family army, and the famous “Butterfly Lovers” and “Legend of the White Snake” operas.

Luhuitou Scenic Area
Luhuitou Scenic Area, also known as Luhuitou Peak Park, is located in the south of Sanya City. It is surrounded by sea on three sides, and the scenery is very good. Climb to the top of the hill 275 meters above sea level, and you can see the scenery and coastal beauty of Sanya City. This is also a good venue for viewing sunrise and sunset. The Luhuitou sculpture in the park is one of the symbols of Sanya, otherwise known as “Deer City,”. The sculpture is also a mascot of the city.

Binlang Ethnic Village
The Binlang Ethnic Village is located within the Ganshiling Nature Reserve. The village preserves the pristine tropical environment, and the dense forest is thick with areca (betel) nut palms. The Binlang Ethnic Village showcases the culture of the Li and Miao peoples. Live performances display the folk customs of Hainan’s indigenous inhabitants and help visitors better understand them as they enjoy the lovely scenery.
